FIRST STEPS - A 4 Part Bible Study

By Rev David Brown - (prior Senior Pastor - Epping Baptist Church, Sydney AUSTRALIA)

You are very welcome to PRINT this Study for Personal or Group Study purposes.

Having completed "Christianity Explained" or another Basic Christian study you will be aware that:

Jesus is the Son of God.
Jesus died on the cross to deal with our sin.
Jesus rose from the dead to give us life always with God.
You can't become a Christian by good works - it is by God's grace.
You become a Christian as you repent and believe in Jesus Christ.

How would you answer an imagined question from God: "Why should I let you into my heaven?" What would you reply?

Write your answer down here.__________________________________________________

You may be asking, "What are the First Steps I can take to grow as a Christian?" Having trusted in Jesus Christ to deal with your sin, and wanting to follow Him because He is your Lord, What's next?

The aim of this series is to help you begin to answer the question. Let us assure you that you won't be perfect by the time you finish this - neither will you have all the answers to your questions - but you will, having commenced your life as a Christian, have grown a little - you will have taken some FIRST STEPS! Which is important.

BEFORE YOU STEP OUT

You may look at 4 basic themes:

bibleStudy 1:- BE CERTAIN
bibleStudy 2:- THE BIBLE
bibleStudy 3:- PRAYER
bibleStudy 4:- LINKING UP WITH OTHERS

The FORMAT for each theme will basically be the same:

(1) You will have five sections with each theme.
(2) You may like to cover one theme in a day, or one theme in a week - it's up to you. Set a pace that fits in with your available time and circumstances. Each section will probably take you 10 minutes.

The important thing is that having become a Christian you develop in your relationship with God. These studies will help you!

I do hope you enjoy the study. It is also important to meet with another person at least once a week to discuss the things you have found helpful, difficult to understand, didn't like, or any questions you have. May God richly bless you in your First Steps with Him
